My reviews of the domain name registrars I've used over the years.

Pricing: PhP500/year
Time with Host: 4/26/04 - 4/26/06
In all honesty, I don't remember much of my time with PinoyDNS since it was a long time ago (I'm pretty bad at remembering stuff). The only reason why I moved to a different registrar was because I didn't want a public whois and they didn't offer private registrations. If I didn't care as much, I probably wouldn't have moved away since I never really had a problem with their services. :)

Pricing: around $18/year (domain renewal + private registration)
Time with Host: 4/26/06 - 4/26/08
GoDaddy was probably the first registrar that came to mind when I was looking for a company that offered private registrations, so I signed up and transferred turbo-geek.org to them. I'm very happy with them as a registrar---I've never had any problems whatsoever, and I really like their control panel since it's pretty straightforward and easy to learn.
Domain: 42ndfloor.net
URL: http://www.netfirms.com/
Pricing: $4.95 for the first year with free private registration for .com and .net domains
Time with Host: 7/20/07 - 7/20/08
When I transferred turbo-geek.org over to Alex's reseller back in July, I decided to register a 2nd domain name so I can play around with the space that I had already paid for with HostingPH. Since it was only for tinkering purposes, I did a Google search on the cheapest registrars out there, one of which was NetFirms. When I found out that they offered free private registrations to .com and .net domains, I decided to take advantage of it and registered a domain name with them right away. At first I thought NetFirms was pretty weird. Compared to GoDaddy's control panel, theirs wasn't up to par and quite confusing. I spent a good couple of hours trying to figure out how to do basic stuff. :/ Aside from that, I guess it's not so bad. :P
Domain: mental-piracy.org
URL: http://www.dreamhost.com/
Pricing: $9.95/year with free private registration; free when you purchase hosting
Time with Host: 10/2/07 - 10/2/08
I'm relatively new with DreamHost, but I'm glad I found out about their domain registration services. I pay separately for private registration with GoDaddy, and they offer it for free when you purchase a domain for only $9.95 a year?! :O Haha. I find their control panel rather weird and all over the place, however, since it took me the better part of an hour just trying to figure out how to change the nameservers. :/
