A month or two ago, a family friend’s friend gave us a parrot named Mr. G.

He was amusing at first (then again, birds always are when they know how to shut their little traps), but I never really cared about him as much as the rest of my family did. I don’t know why, but he creeped me out from the get go. I used to scream and run away whenever he’d go near me.

ANYWAYS. Last week, I had a dream nightmare where I finally had the guts to pet Mr. G.

AND THEN HE BIT MY FRIGGIN’ FINGER OFF!! *huffs*

I’m going to hate that bird for all eternity. >__>

Ouch. :( My family friend had a pet bird once. They decided to give it back to the pet store because it had a tendency to bite people as well as fly around the house. They were too nice to clip the bird’s wings. You should try to teach the parrot to talk though. It may take a while though. Parrots are known to be stubborn, as I’ve realized by going to my friend’s house when she owned the parrot. The parrot just wouldn’t cooperate when I tried to feed it crackers. It kept tilting its head away.

Oh dear… talk about all your hopes and dreams of PARROT and HUMAN interaction crushed in an instant with the horrible screech of the pain surging throughout that bitten finger. All will be well… hopefully.

Still.. BIRDS ARE A HASSLE AS IS. Today, at the park, I saw a bird. Not an everyday bird.. but a BIRD THAT COULD NOT FLY. And you know what I did? I tried petting the thing… but NO. It just kept hopping away from me. Then, after many attempts later, it was SLEEPING. MY GOD =O it just… sat there.. without moving. I touched with a blade of grass… and yet it again, it was playing dead. It was astounding. Eventually.. the thing went off into the world of bushes leaving me in negativity in the park. Birds hate me :)

Parrots are cool. They live a long time, though. I’m sure you’ll get the guts to pet him in real life sometime. He is only a bird, the most he could do is peck you a little bit. Besides, bribe him with treats or something. That should do the trick.

We used to have a parrot, too, when I was a lot younger. That bird HATED me. The only one the bird liked was my brother. The parrot was SO loud and so angry. We finally gave him away to a parrot breeder, and all’s well that ends well.

might i ask what the “g” stands for? because if it stands for something like… gastronomy, i think you should give this parrot another chance. the science of cooking is wonderful, and anything named after that needs to be loved!
you know what are really cute? penguins.

I’m not too fond of birds. They scare me. Plus, I never understood putting something with wings in a cage. Seemed odd.

Haha, I honestly hate birds with every inch of my body. Particularly since I actually have an alergy to birds. Believe me, it was a surprise to me, and particularly my mother when her little girl, after trotting back from a visit to the zoo, returned to her abode covered head-to-toe in a tasteful red rash.

I was prescribed one painful month of “Smelly Asian Ointment”.

    Yurk. D:

“Mr. G” - Does it stand for anything? For example: “Mr. Gaaaaaaah!” or maybe even “Mr Godsdammitmyfinger” ? Just asking, you know. :3

I don’t mind birds, my dad likes them so we’ve had some before, but thankfully they were only budgies and not parrots… I’m not a big fan of them either. But that nightmare of yours sounds hellishly scary :-|.

I hate birds. I just hate birds. We used to have a myna bird and he was actually really funny. Until one day when I reached into his cage to feed him and he poked my arm with his beak. It hurt. I wished death upon him the same day and asked my parents for a dog.

Birds are just annoying, especially ones that talk. We used to drape a piece of cloth over his cage at night, so he wouldn’t make any noise.

You should get a dog instead. They’re sweeter than birds.
