Taste the Rainbow

Two weeks ago (aka the day after my last blog), I decided to play some Wiinnis (Wii Tennis for short, heh) for about 30 minutes. Since I was still in the mood to play, I checked out Wii Fitness afterwards, where my Mii’s fitness age (a horrid 75 on that first try; I’m now 29, though!) was determined through a bunch of training drills. The baseball drill, despite my playing it for only around 5 minutes or so, proved to be the last straw in my Wii playing that night (ok, not really, I could still play Mario Party 8), as well as for the next couple of days, when my entire right arm ended up in constant pain. :/ Not. Cool.

I’m all fine now (obviously, since it’s been two weeks already :P), but from now on I’m sticking to my Wiinnis. No more baseball. And certainly no boxing, heh, I’ve already witnessed my youngest brother experience back and shoulder pains from playing it after a mere 15 minutes. XD

On a side note, left-handed Wiinnis (considering you’re right-handed) is highly fun and amusing, me and my younger brother played it today. :P

Ok, I’m now off to talk about the obviously new that’s staring you in the face. To those who are seeing this layout for the first time, new layout! ;) To those who have seen it before but in orange, well, it now comes fully equipped with tricks that weren’t available before! Don’t believe me? Click on Customize? below the navigation strip to see a spiffy magic trick. ;D

Kidding aside. In an attempt to make my site more user-friendly, I’ve employed a CSS style switcher, which you can view as the result of the “magic trick” I was just talking about. If you preferred the orange version of this layout, you are more than welcome to revert back to it (this color scheme was just my favorite overall, so I made it the default), but there are also other colors to choose from (green, blue, pink/brown). And if you happen to think of an insanely awesome color combo you’d like to see here, suggest away in the comments (with hex values, hopefully :P). If I like the combinations, I’ll do my best to have them be available. :)

Aside from that, I’ve also switched from using pt for the font size to em, which allows any browser to increase/decrease the font size on the page. It’s all I can do for now, though. I wanted to bring back the text resizer I used to have in my sidebar (I wonder how many of you can remember that far back :P), but the javascript for it interfered with the javascript for moo.fx, and I couldn’t figure out why height.hide(); suddenly refused to work. I’m a programming n00b, so I’m stuck. There’s a second text resizing method I haven’t thoroughly tried yet, however (since it requires the creation of five new stylesheets and I was already spacing out the first time I tried), so let’s all hope I can get it to work.

After howmanyweeks, the family computer is finally fixed. It took three motherboards (the first two wouldn’t work right), a new (and much better!) video card, a new power supply for the video card, and a new fan for the power supply. XD I cannot tell you guys how great it is that my brothers are laying off my laptop now, which has served as the temporary family computer since I got back from Gainesville. And what’s even better is, after my dad fixed the problem and installed all the shiny new stuff, he caved in and bought a wireless router (though I have my youngest brother to thank for that since he was the one who pestered our dad for it). So now I am blogging in the comforts of the living room, propped on my favorite couch in front of the TV. :]

I joked to my dad some weeks ago to upgrade my laptop’s memory from 1GB to 2GB. He’s been looking around for memory cards online since then, but I’m not entirely sure if he’ll get them for me. :P Let’s all hope for the best, shall we?

Ok, this entry is long enough. I shall leave you guys with a link to The Format’s official site, where you can download their album Dog Problems for free until July 16. :)

Yay for Keng! Yay for everything Keng!

I wish I had a Wii to pass these bum days I have and get some exercise as well. Too bad I don’t have a brother to pester my parents. Grr. I love this color scheme *tries out other color schemes*. Personally, I love this layout too.

I prefer using px or pt as opposed to em. I don’t know why, I know them more. Damn. 3 motherboards? That must be a heck of a PC! Haha good for your laptop ;) I don’t think I can handle a wireless router. I don’t think I’ll ever get up from my bed anymore :-s

Thanks for the Dog Problems link! Downloading now ;)

Juice: I’m used to using pt as well, but I read an article about how IE users can’t increase/decrease the font size on a page unless the CSS specifies it in em or percentages. I should probably read more into it, but at least it was a learning experience. :P

And lol, 3 motherboards because the first two were wonky. XD I’ll edit my post to clarify, hee.

Thanks for the suggestion - I fixed the input color.

I love this layout, especially the colors. I still want to learn a few things dealing with programming etc. but the customize option you have - it’s really cool.

I’m not a big gamer, but from what I’ve heard, Wii sounds fun. :]

Wow, I didn’t know a Wii was SO aerobically effective! Hopefully childhood obesity due to sitting down and playing video games will decrease due to Wii. But maybe not… My cousins play it sitting down with minimal effort.

I DID think the layout changed colors. But I noticed the “customize” thing before you mentioned it in the blog.

    Take care!

Angela: Yeah, most games don’t require as much movement as Wii Sports does, at least the ones that we currently have.

The supposedly hidden customize bar shows up while the page loads and only hides once the whole page has finished. I don’t know if it’s because I’m only using moo.fx—there’s mootools, but it looks more complicated so I’m not delving into that just yet. :P

Interesting site, the layout is nice and simple and I love the ability to change the stylesheet. The Wii sounds amazing, and Winnis sounds like lots of fun, you know you’re making me want a Wii even more know after reading the first part of your entry. Sorry for a not very length comment…
